We are operations people and contractors who got tired of software reviews written by people who have never run a crew.

Why We Built This

Most "best software" articles are written by freelance writers who Googled the topic an hour ago. They list 15 tools, copy features from each vendor's website, and call it a review. That is not helpful when you are trying to pick the right tool for your business.

We come from the trades. We have worked inside contracting companies, managed CRMs, set up scheduling systems, and seen what happens when the wrong software meets a real job site. We know the difference between a tool that looks good in a demo and a tool that works when your crew is running behind on a Tuesday.

FieldStack exists to give contractors honest, specific software guidance. We do not review 50 tools and rank them all 4 out of 5 stars. We pick the ones that actually work for each trade and tell you exactly who each tool is for and who should skip it.

How We Make Money

FieldStack earns affiliate commissions when you click a link on our site and sign up for software. This is how we keep the reviews free.

We are upfront about this because trust matters. Here is what we promise:

  • We never recommend a tool just because it pays us more.
  • If the best tool in a category has no affiliate program, we still recommend it.
  • Every review includes honest drawbacks. No tool is perfect.

How We Review

Every tool on FieldStack goes through the same process:

  1. We sign up and use the tool ourselves.
  2. We check real user reviews on G2, Capterra, app stores, and contractor forums.
  3. We evaluate the tool against the specific needs of each trade.
  4. We compare pricing, contracts, and free trial options.
  5. We write our review in plain language that any contractor can understand.
